On behalf of [ORG], I am pleased to provide this letter of support for the Tauhinu Sea Scout Group (TSSG). TSSG has a long tradition of service to its members and the local community. TSSG initiatives that are aligned with and support the objectives of [ORG] include: Leadership Development TSSG’s leadership development programmes encourage members to learn leadership skills that will help them to become socially responsible leaders who will care for their communities and the environment. TSSG actively supports conservation work A significant amount of community and environmental work is completed by TSSG every year. These include local foreshore and beach clean ups. These opportunities give our young people practical conservation skills and instill a strong sense of responsibility for protecting the environment. Effective collaboration with like minded organisations TSSG collaborates effectively with like minded organisations, like [ORG], on initiatives that directly benefit communities in our region. Reducing the likelihood of our members needing to call on services like the Coastguard TSSG provides their members with a range of skills that help them to be safe on the water. This reduces the likelihood of scouts having to call on the services of support services like the Coastguard. Making TSSG facilities available for use by other groups The TSSG facilities are used by a number of other groups including the girl guides, local school groups and the Greenhithe Fishing Club. This helps to enhance connection within the community. We strongly support the continuation and expansion of TSSG.
